What grounding means to me
Grounding, for me, is a sense of calm and stability in my body, mind, and actions. It’s the way scattered, chaotic energy can soften and settle into something steadier and more centered. When I’m grounded, I’m better able to respond instead of react—to breathe instead of brace.
Why I needed grounding
Last year, my life changed in ways I never expected. My husband lost his right leg below the knee, and suddenly everything felt different—my routines, my sense of self, and how I understood my role as a wife and as a person.
I felt rushed, uneasy, angry, exhausted, and unseen all at the same time. There were days when my nervous system felt constantly on edge, like I was always bracing for the next thing.
Grounding became my way of making it through that season. Simple breathing practices and EFT tapping helped calm my body, steady my thoughts, and create just enough space for me to make healthier choices for myself in the middle of it all.
What I’ve learned
Grounding didn’t fix everything. But it gave me something solid to return to—again and again—when life felt overwhelming. It reminded me that I could pause, breathe, and reconnect with what was true, even when circumstances were hard.
Why I created Back to Beloved
Over time, these grounding practices became something I returned to daily. They helped me remember who I was beneath the stress and roles I was carrying. That’s why I created Back to Beloved, a gentle 7-day grounding and reconnection challenge.
My hope is simple: that after seven days, you feel equipped with a few easy tools you can come back to whenever life feels heavy—and that you feel, deep in your bones, that you are not alone.
